: I am interested in treatments that others are receiving for their FMS. My doctor is reluctant to adequately treat my pain and fatigue due to addiction concerns. While I understand his concern, my quality of life is drastically diminished. He(my Dr.) considers FMS to be a sleep disorder, but from the info I have acquired it seems to be a pain or neuro disorder. Am I right?....or is he? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

you are both right
fms is a disorder in the midbrain and below
it affects daily (circadian) rhythms
starting with sleep center
without appropriate sleep
we become hypersensitive to everything
but most obviously pain in muscles
also hypersensitive to light, temperature, sound, touch
certain chemicals and emotions - especially other peoples emotions
