Hi.

My mother had symptoms, I have it, my 30 year old daughter has it. My first husband's mother has it, and so does her daughter.

Females are more likely to have symptoms.

My husband (a scientist/MD) and I feel that exposure to certain chemicals caused ours. Make sure you get fresh air, stay away from the chemicals which smell, including perfume and "air fresheners".
Take muti-vitamins and drink tea. Plus make sure you eat green vegetables ,and fruit.

It is important for anyone with FMS to get a complete checkup. Often there are other things going on in the body.

If a doctor shows disbelief or disrespect about CFS or FMS, don't go back! He/she has not tried to read scienfic info, but are taking the lazy way out.

The CBC blood tests don't tell the whole story. I have a blood clotting situation which never shows up on standard tests, but shows up on other tests.

If you have a headache which lasts more than one day, go to a neurologist.

I wear a hat and extra clothing in bad weather, even in the house; the moisture in the air hurts me. The padding helps.

A Chinese herbal ointment called Woodlock helps when put on painful spots.

Don't worry about getting FMS. Just take your vitamins, stay away from chemicals (all forms, including household cleaning supplies), use an electric air PURIFIER (not freshener) to clean the air in the rooms where you sleep, etc.

: My mother was just diagnosed with Fibro and her doctor says there is a 50% chance her children will eventually develope it. Is this true? If so, this would also be true for my two children? Any advice on nipping this thing in the bud? My mother has had it for many years, and we believe it was induced by a virus.Thank you
