Sounds like a reaction to the winter weather! My hips get very dry in the same manner and feel as if they're sunburned in the winter. I take cod liver oil internally. You have to mix one tablespoon full of the cod liver oil with 2 tablespoons of whole milk and take it on an empty stomach before bed. This little ritual is important, and you must keep it up for a month before you'll see results, but at the end of the month, wow! If you don't take the oil this way, it never makes it past your digestive system. The protein in the milk binds the essential fatty acids in the oil and carries them into the blood and then to where they are most needed. I also rub aloe vera gel on the sore areas of skin. Aloe vera can be found in the health food store or you can grow them right in your own yard and cut off a leaf and scoop out the gel inside. Aloe is very good for treating sunburns and any painful skin conditions as it has a natural pain reliever in it and it also has many good nutrients for healing the skin. Hope this helps, Diana!
