I have had upper right quadrant abdominal pain over the last eight years. It started the day after I completed a triathlon. The next day I could barely take a breath. Although I'm better now, the pain is still there. I always thought that I had ruptured by diaghram. Standard X rays, digestive tests, an endoscopic look (through my mouth) into my stomach, etc., never showed a problem. Last week I had an MRI with scans done in three planes. A hernia does not show, but, the report says, "elevated right hemidiaghram." What might be the cause of all my discomfort. I feel liked I'm bruised or tender inside ofby body just above the liver. The pain seems to be mechanical in nature. When I change by body position (like laying down at night, or accelerating in a car), the internal area is aggravated. I can't seem to figure out what it is. Any suggestions or ideas regarding who might specialize in this area? (I've tried internist, pulmonologists, thorasic doctors, etc.)
