Physical therapists can be tricky. In some states, they are
permitted to "use their own judgement" instead of following the doctor's
prescription. I learned that the hard way. I live in Pennsylvania and I
had bad experiences with 2 different physical therapy places -- one did too
much and made me worse while the other didn't do enough and wasted my time.
Dr. Alpert said he very rarely sends a patient to a physical therapist
because they ignore what he prescribes! Hopefully, where you live, physical
therapists are not egotistical jerks and you will benefit from the therapy.
In Italy, physical therapists are excellent. I had 3 excellent experiences
there. You may be better off going to a massage therapist who has
experience with fibromyalgia patients.
