Is there a connection between certain food allergies and FMS? I've got FMS and I am allergic to many foods: carrots, pecans, bananas, avocados, almonds, etc., and also have many respiratory allergies to mold and wheat dust. Kind regards, Texas-Expat

Many people with fibromyalgia also have many allergies as well as sensitivity to several chemicals. It is very common. In my case, I had weird "allergies" all of my life. I was put on dextroamphetamine when I was 28 years old to control excessive daytime sleepiness. Like magic, the "weird allergies" disappeared overnight. I now know that the allergies as well as the excessive daytime sleepiness are part of the fibromyalgia syndrome. Now, I'm not saying that dextroamphetamine will control your allergies. All of us fibromyalgia patients are different and we all respond differently to treatment.
