Patients with FMS have so many symptoms that getting relief from some of them is a blessing. There is no effective treatment that works for all of us -- it's trial and error. If you feel better with the treatment, be thankful. If not, your body will tell you when to stop. I have been seeing an endocrinologist for 20 years and he has been treating me for "idiopathic edema." It was only last year that we discovered the idiopathic edema was related to fibromyalgia and it occurs as a response to eating carbohydrate.
